2026 Symphony of Civilisations
"Art Across Borders: A Dialogue of Civilisations"
April 24, 2026 – May 20, 2026
Hebei, China

Symphony of Civilisations · 2026 International Art Invitational Exhibition celebrates art as a universal language connecting cultures, histories and people across borders. Bringing together 100 artists from 14 countries, the exhibition creates a dynamic platform for artistic dialogue between China and diverse cultures across Asia and Europe.
Through nearly one hundred works, different artistic traditions, contemporary expressions and cultural perspectives meet and resonate with one another. From the poetic sensibility of Chinese ink painting to distinctive international artistic languages, the exhibition explores how heritage can inspire contemporary creation while fostering mutual understanding among civilisations.
Like a symphony, each artwork carries its own voice, memory and identity, yet becomes part of a larger composition. Together, the works reflect the richness of cultural diversity while revealing shared human experiences and values.
Co-organised by Hebei Normal University and the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in China, the 2026 exhibition builds on the inaugural Symphony of Civilisations: An Artistic Journey through Chinese and Albanian Cultures, held in May 2025. What began as a dialogue between China and Albania has evolved into a wider international platform connecting artists and cultures from countries across the Belt and Road and beyond.
Combining artistic exhibition, academic exchange, aesthetic education and international cooperation, Symphony of Civilisations seeks to make art a lasting bridge between peoples — encouraging dialogue, mutual appreciation and the shared preservation and renewal of cultural heritage.
At its heart lies a simple idea: civilisations do not exist in isolation. Like the voices of a symphony, they become richer through dialogue, exchange and harmony.
